South India Wildlife Tours

Duration of Tour : 17 Days / 16 Nights
Destinations Covered in Tour :Bangalore, Mysore, Bandipur, Madumalai, Mukurthy, Ooty, Annamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, Munnar, Periyar, Kumarakom

Day 01: Arrive Bangalore Mysore
After arriving Bangalore you will be met by our volunteers who will shift you to Hotel. Take some rest in the hotel and then check out from the hotel for the luxurious trip to Mysore.

Visiting places of Mysore :- sight scenes of Mysore, Lalitha Mahal, St.Philomena Church, Mysore Zoo, Sri Jayachmarajenda gallery, Chamundi hill, Srirangapatna fort (fort of Tiger of Mysore, Tipu Sultan), Ranganathittu, Bharachukki Cascade, and Tirumakudla Narasipura. Chamundi hill is the main attraction that overlooks the mysore city.
After this whole day trip, back to the hotel and stay their overnight.

Day 02: Mysore
On second day, we will take you for a city tour.
City tour consists of :- City Palace, beautiful Viridian Gardens and Chamundi temple.
In afternoon you can do shopping for you and your lovable. Basically you can roam around the city and can do independent activities. Then, overnight stay in hotel.

Day 03: Mysore-Bandipur
On third day of the tour, after breakfast check out from the hotel and leave for Bandipur (80 kms/2 Hrs) .
Bandipur :- full day sightseeing around Bandipur, Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, WWF's Project Tiger sites. In evening, check into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 04: Bandipur
On 4th day, after breakfast we take you to Bandipur Tiger Reserve.
Bandipur tiger reserve:- was established under project tiger in 1973 by carving out 880 square km from the wildlife park. It is flanked by the Nagarhole National Park in the north-west, Madumalai sanctuary of Tamilnadu in the south and wynad sanctuary of Kerala in the south-west. In the days of the Mysore Maharajas, Bandipur was their game reserve. Apart from the tigers; the other residents of this area are herds of bison, spotted deer, elephants, and sambhar. Leopards also live here. Also it forms the suitable habitat for the Asian elephant. After visiting all this, overnight stay in hotel.

Day 05: Bandipur- Madumalai
On 5th day, we will move early to visit Mudumalai Sanctuary located in the luxuriantly forested foothills of the Nilgiris. Basically, it is situated at the tri-junction of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka on the North Eastern Slopes of the Nilgiris part of Western Ghats descending to the Mysore Plateau. The main attractions here are the Spotted Deer, Indian bison, elephant, wild boar, otters, and crocodiles. Overnight stay in jungle resort. Jungle resort gives you the greatest feeling of wildlife thunder. Its really amazing.

Day 06: Madumalai-Mukurthy
On 6th day, after breakfast we take you to Mukurthy Wild life Sanctuary. As it’s a long journey. We will arrive there in the dark night which is not safe for visiting any place. So, we check in jungle resort. Sanctuary is located in the high altitudes of the Nilgiris Mountains. Then, stay whole night in jungle resort.

Day 07: Mukurthy
After having good breakfast we leave the resort for the visit of wildlife sanctuary “Mukurthy”. It is interspersed with sholas and woodland. Situated about 40 Km from Udhagamandalam, Mukkurthi National Park is home to a variety of animal and bird life. You can watch there Nilgiri Tahr (Hamitragus-hilocrius), Sambhar, Nilgiris Marten, River Otter, Barking deer, Jackal, Jungle cat and hill birds like the laughing thrushes, whistling, thrushes, woodcock, wood pigeon and black eagle, Indian Red Admiral, Indian Cabbage white, and many others can be found here. Then, overnight stay in jungle resort.

Day 08: Mukurthy-Ooty
After having some light breakfast check out from the resort and leave for Ooty or Udagamandalam. Popularly known as the queen of hill stations. An important and interesting tourist spot of Tamilnadu. This place is also a place of visit in the summer season for its chill climate. It is located at a height of 2286 m and is famous for its sprawling tea gardens.

Visit of Ooty consists of:- Botanical Gardens (2 Kms), Tiger Hill (16 Kms), Dodabetta Peak (10 Kms), Children’s park, Boat house lake, Pykara, Glen morgen, Avalanche, Valley View Lake (1 km), Wilson Fish Farm, St. Stephen Church, Marlimund Lake (5 Kms), Wenlock Downs (2 Kms), Avalanche (15 Kms), Elk Hill, Kalhatti Falls (14 Kms), Snow don, Glen Morgen (25 Kms).

After these visits, overnight stay in hotel.

Day 09: Ooty-Annamalai
After breakfast check out from the hotel and leave for Annamali. On arrival in Annamalai check in lodge, rest there for the whole night.

Day 10: Annamalai Wildlife Sanctuary
After breakfast, we will go to the Anamalai wildlife sanctuary.
Anamalai wildlife sanctuary:- it is one of the most attractive preserves of nature in Tamil Nadu. It is also called the India Gandhi national Park and located in the Western Ghats near Pollachi, about 90 km from Coimbatore.

Main attractions of the sanctuary:- we take you for the full day trip to elephant camps and forest. Here you can see the wild animals mainly, elephant, gaur, tiger, panther, sloth bear, wild boar, wild dog, Nilgiri langur, lion-tailed macaque, sambhar, four, horned antelope, chital, etc. and a host of birds, notably the pied horn bill and several species of eagles.
After this hectic schedule, we will get back to our hotel and rest there for the night.

Day 11: Annamalai Wildlife Sanctuary
After breakfast we will take you full day trip to Anagundi and Varagaliarrain forests. Here you can see the natural beauty of forest. Overnight stay at Lodge.

Day 12: Annamalai Wildlife Sanctuary - Munnar
After breakfast check out from the hotel and leave for Munnar. On the way, visits Chinnar Sanctuary. On arrival in Munnar check in Hotel. Take some rest and do your independent activities.
Overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 13 Munnar
After having breakfast check out from th hotel and we drive to Eravikulam National Park, famous for the Nilgiri Tahr - the endangered species in the world. Eravikulam National Park is situated at Rajamallay which sets on Munar-Udumalpet Road in the South Indian state of Kerala. Here you can discover the highest peak in South India, called Anamudi, the height is 2695metres. The grasslands of Eravikulam is of “climax” type. The forest around here known as evergreen forest, more than 30species of the grasslands are regarded as rare and threatened. Eravikulam has great flowering beauty which makes it a perfect dwelling ground for the birds. There you can get the knowledge about the vulnerable and rare species. Then, overnight stay in hotel.

Day 14: Munnar-Periyar
After having South-Indian breakfast check out from the hotel and we will drive to Periyar (about 105kms/ 03hrs) by our personal cabs. En-route, we can see beautiful sceneries and cardamom plantations. On arrival, check into the hotel and take some rest after the long journey. In afternoon, we move to do a plantation tour. Here you can see all varieties of plants and also you can get the knowledge about the different types of fertilizers and HYV seeds. Overnight Stay in Hotel.

Day 15: Periyar
After breakfast check out from the hotel to leave for Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary, known as Periyar Tiger Reserve. In afternoon cruise a boat ride in Periyar Lake surrounded by hills to see the natural beauty and wild animals, mainly elephants enticing water from the lake. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 16: Periyar- Kumarakom
After breakfast check out from Hotel and we will drive down to Kumarakom (145 Kms / 4 Hrs). On arrival at Kumarakom, visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and later check into hotel and take some rest. In evening, we will go for Sunset cruise (optional) or you can enjoy the beauty of backwater by just relaxing near Vembanadu Lake. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 17: Depart
On the last day of the tour, we will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to Cochin / Trivandrum – airport. This will be the end of this wonderful and knowledgeable trip.
